November 2nd Adoption Book of the Day

It is that time of year again! In honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, Tapestry Books with be highlighting a particular adoption book or resource each day throughout the entire month of November. Stay tuned every day to find out which great adoption book should be your next read!

The Adoption Book of the Day for Monday, November 2nd “The Mulberry Bird” by Anne Braff Brodzinsky. First published in 1986, this classic adoption tale was one of the first children’s books that focused primarily on adoption themes. Brodzinsky tells the story of a young and single mother mulberry bird who is struggling to raise her baby. This wonderfully written book “sensitively explores prevalent issues in the adoption debate, from the enduring force of a birth parent’s love to the importance of nurturing an adoptive child in its new environment.”
