“This is a life-changing path you are undertaking. With this Journal you will be able to combine both the wishing and hoping with the reality of the experience. You will have a guide to lead you through the maze of emotions. How fortunate you are to have this tool to help you travel this path to becoming a whole person!” —Amy Winn, LMHC President, American Adoption Congress
“A search is a journey on an unknown road with many starts, turns, and occasional stops. A myriad of feelings will overwhelm the searcher, so having a knowledgeable guide is invaluable.” —Nancy Feldman co-author of Family Medical History: Unknown/Adopted
Rebecca Crofoot served as a caseworker for the Nebraska Children’s Home Society for over 42 years. About 30 of those years were dedicated to assisting clients with search and reunion. Because people are increasingly searching without the assistance of an adoption expert, Crofoot developed this journal as a simple tool to assist people before and during their search effort. Her wish is to give searchers/adoptees insights which will enable them to navigate this process more smoothly.
