Jelle and Maam are increasingly together. Lobke has the most grip on Sil; she can still go to catechism. When Jelle has sprained his ankle and cannot join in, Sil calls on Wietse. However, he wants to hand over everything to the beach warden as it should be. Sil becomes enraged and knocks his son to the ground. The next day, Wietse appears to have left.
