This book is written to change the perspective individuals have towards adoption. Verrier suggests the idea of a “primal wound” that all adopted children experience and enumerates ways to cope with this feeling of loss and pain in the adoptive family. Written as an analysis on the psychology of adopted children, this non-fiction book is an amazing read for anyone interested in learning more about the effect of adoption on families.
